Welcome!

Hi I'm Sam and this is my blogsite!

Here I will showcase my photography and also share a bit about my home life with my husband Trevor and my 4 children.

I specialise in newborn and babies portraiture and just adore creating special keepsake memories of this precious time in your child's life.

Thankyou for stopping by and please call back as I will update here regularly.

Morgan | Newborn

This is 3 week old Morgan. He was highly suspicious, a little bit feisty and wasn’t all that keen to play along but he finally decided to nod off and he even gave me a few smiles. Thankyou Kate, he really is a sweetheart ❤morganblog

March 12, 2010 - 6:52 pm maz - OH what a serious little man he is..Love how you captured his sleepy happiness

My boy!

I usually don’t get photos of my littlest man that show the golden colour of his eyes because he’s taken to pulling silly faces and squinty eyes when I point the camera at him. I just had to share his gorgeousness. Only a little bit biased I am lol.Caleb

February 2, 2010 - 10:29 am Bree - I love her facial expression - beautiful and cheeky at the same time. Fantastic work Samantha x

Some from the Kelley Ryden workshop!

I know it was a while ago but my previous blog was truly lousy for showing photos, so I thought I’d share a few of my favs from Kelleys workshop.

Seth | Newborn

I had a wonderful time with Seth and his Mum Shari. Seth was born 7 weeks premature and at the time of the photo shoot he was 11 weeks old or 4 weeks corrected age. He is just so tiny and perfect and made the most delightful little noises.

Something is interesting on the other side of the window!

December 10, 2009 - 12:37 pm Shari - The blog is beautiful Sam. And I even spotted my favourite little man up top - how fantastic!! You should be so proud of your awesome work xo

November 30, 2009 - 9:51 pm Lucy - G'day lovely. No, not too boudoir at all! I love it! Lucy x

Beautiful Bella!

I had a wonderful time playing with 10 month old Isabella. She did not want to sit still at all and was more interested in pulling down the blanket or crawling off than looking at the camera. She was hard work but I managed to catch her. Big thanks to Mum who was a great help!

My favourite from the session. She’s such a photogenic beauty.

Babies Wanted!

Are you due to have a baby in the next few weeks? Do you live in or near Melbourne?

If so then there is a wonderful opportunity to get some FREE photos of your bub!

Kelley Ryden is coming to Australia and will be running a series of baby posing workshops from September 5th – 12th.
Models are needed for all class dates on the 5th, 6th, 10th, 11th and 12th (I’ll be there there on the 12th!)
You will need to travel to the Eureka Tower in the CBD and sign a release for the photographers to use the photographs taken on the day.
If you are interested then please contact me via the contact form at the top of the main page.
Spaces are limited and babies need to be 2 weeks or younger on the workshop date so please keep that in mind.

Greetings!

Well I thought it was about time I ended my extended maternity leave and start taking photos again because, damn I missed it! So I am re-launching Samantha Jayne Photography!

I’m available for pregnancy, newborn & baby and family portraits in the South Eastern suburbs of Melbourne. Please email me via the contact link at the top of the page!

What have I been up to this last year…?
On a personal level:
I made a beautiful baby girl who is now commando crawling about the house.
Mason is doing remarkably well in school. We have some issues that are ongoing, as with any ASD child, but we have a great team at the moment working with him so our battles are small ones for now.
My Angus started grade Prep and is doing wonderfully.
Caleb is boss of the house and our big news is that he is toilet trained!
They are all sick to death of me chasing them with the camera lol!
For me there has been a bit of illness unfortunately and issues related to SPD from during my last pregnancy. My husband left his job due to high stress levels and is doing something else and much happier for it. It really shows :)
I did manage to photograph a few bubbas & kids for friends and relatives to keep the passion alive.
Coming up I am doing a workshop in baby posing in September. I am so looking forward to doing this!
The point of this blog…it’s a place for me to share what I’m doing now! My photography is evolving and my style is changing and for now a gallery website can’t show that. I will be building a new one in the future though to showcase my best and favourites.
I am unable to do birth photography anymore due to the nature of my husbands new job and lack of committed sitters available for me. I’m very sad about this because I loved being a part of welcoming a new life into the world.
That’s all for now. Please be sure to check back in as I will be sharing some of my favourites as well as new shoots as they come up!
